The Last Man On Earth: Alive in Tucson – The Elephant in the Room (2015) Filming Locations – episode 1.0 & 1.1

Last Man On Earth is a hilarious comedy TV Series, brought to you by FOX. It stars Will Forte, Kristen Schaal, Mel Rodriguez, January Jones and many other great actors and actresses. The hit show supposedly takes place in Tucson Arizona. The show starts off with Phil (Will Forte) searching the USA looking for any other living human. He soon finds out there may be other “Last Men on Earth”

The first stop on the tour is where Phil is seen driving through a Mall looking for other survivors. This location is the Westfield Topanga Mall in Canoga Park, California

Fun film fact: This mall has been seen in many TV series and movies including Captain America: The Winter Soldier that was filmed inside the Apple Store and Better Things that was filmed at the Macy’s.

In this scene we see Phil going back to his Tucson, Arizona Apartment known as The Tucson Knolls. This was also filmed in Chatsworth on Canoga and Devonshire.

The next stop on the tour is the entrance to the Bonita Estates. This is actually the entrance to the Hunt Club Estates, a small gated community located in the North San Fernando Valley in Chatsworth, California.

Next, is Phil’s new Tucson House. I’m sure by now you can guess the house is not actually in Tucson. This one is located in a different small gated community just about a mile north of the 118 fwy. in Chatsworth. The actual house is located on Peak Road.

Fun Film Fact: The amazing scene was actually filmed in the backyard of Carol’s House across the street.

Where is the Grocery Store that Phil gathers supplies located? In this scene we see Phil shooting his way into, is The Fields Market located in West Hills, California.

Right next door from the Fields Market is where Phil spots a beautiful Mannequin in the window… “It’s love at first sight”

We now move about 4 miles east to Winnetka, California. This is where Phil gets super bored and starts having some fun at a Bowling Ally Parking Lot. This classic scene was filmed at The Canoga aka Winnetka Bowl Bowling alley on located on Vanowen and Winnetka.

“Car Bowling”

 Phil is seen rolling a Toyota Camry into a new Mustang as it blows up. This great scene was filmed at the Northridge Fashion Center parking lot in Northridge, California.

O’Rozco’s is where Phil & his ball-friend’s hang out at. This is a real bar located in Chatsworth, California, and is now called the West End Tavern.

In this scene we see Phil is about to end-it-all by crashing into a rock. But first, he creates a giant tomb-stone out of the Chatsworth Mountains.

Can you recognize this location? It’s the Lone Ranger Rock used in the opening credits of the 1950’s series.

Right before Phil hits the bullseye, he spots fire burning in the distance and stops the truck.

Phil follows the smoke and finds a bra at a camp-site, he’s then confronted with Carol pointing a gun at him.

In episode 1.1, the Elephant in the Room, Phil meets Carol.

She almost shoots Phil until she realizes he’s an ok guy that won’t harm her. This great scene was filmed at a beach-camp-site located about 25 miles away in Malibu at the Leo Carrillo Beach.

Carol & Phil become friends and start looking for supplies and survivors when they are seen running a stop sign. For this scene, we move all the way to Santa Paula, California

Next, we see Sliver’s Hardware store where they continue looking for supplies. This scene was filmed at the Joanns Crafts in Santa Clarita, California

Carol moves in directly across the street from Phil on Peak Road.

In this scene, we see Phil trying to get water. This was filmed on a small private road located just behind the cul-de-sac where the group lives. You can actually see this location from the 118 Fwy.
