The Prom San Fernando Valley Filming Locations – Netflix 2020
Feb: 2020 – Chatsworth, CA: The new Netflix original movie, The Prom Directed by Ryan Murphy and starring Nicole Kidman, Meryl Streep, and Keegan-Michael Key is now filming at the Applebee’s in Chatsworth, California. We’ll just have to wait until the movie comes out to see what the restaurant was actually used for.
Update: 2 Applebee’s were used in this scene. The First one being the Chatsworth, California where we see Meryl Streep, and Keegan-Michael Key sitting and talking.

The second location is the exterior of the Applebee’s located in Saugus, Massachusetts that be found 1500 miles away on Broadway.

Where is this House seen in the film?
Emma lives with Grandma Bea and Emma’s house can be found in North Hollywood, California on Huston Street.

What Mall is seen in the film?
All of the Dancing in the mall scenes were shot on location in Northridge, California at the Northridge Fashion Center located on Tampa Ave. Another location that can be found in the famous San Fernando Valley.
Fun Fact: This is the same shopping mall seen in American Horror Story Apocolypse, Terminator 2, and many many more.

Dancing in the streets!
Out front of the World Famous Shubert Theatre in New York is where this great scene was shot. NOT! Ryan murphy spent 6 months re-creating Broadway New York on an 4-acre empty lot on San Pedro Street in Los Angeles.

Where is James Madison High School that’s seen in the film?
All of the amazing singing and dance scenes, the Prom, and all the School interior and exterior scenes were filmed in the San Fernando Valley at Taft High School located off of Winnetka in Woodland Hills, CA.
The stairs leading up to the lunch area is where the 2 girls are standing in the scene below.

In this scene we a bunch of Limousines picking up the girls and heading to the Prom.
